La mise en scène des lieux urbains en station de montagne

Fordist ski resorts meet internal and external pressures. These restrictions lead to strain the relations between the functional and symbolical logics of those urban places built ex-nihilo in the 1960’s and 70’s. In this context marked by a “return to local” and to a territorial scale, the focus on the living environment quality, even temporary, is strongly increasing. To address the escalation of issues related to land coverage and landscape features, we need to “deal with” the ski resort’s urban inheritage which is considered as a (micro) territorial datum and potentially as a resource. The staging of these mountainous public places is comprehended as a way to promote micro-territorial resources. The research in tourist urbanism is especially based upon the analysis of one Pyrenean resort called Gourette, which has chosen to reclassify its urban spaces
