Starting from the 4th c. of the Christian era, the Eastern coast of the Arabic peninsula was under the influence of the Sassanid Empire, the region of Oman, Mâzun, being administrated by the Persian government, marzubân, which controlled a local Arab « king ». This political entity, centered on the ports of Dabâ and Suhar, was deriving benefit from the revenue from international trade with West Asia.
