This study of a passage of Marc's gospel (9, 14-29), commonly known as "healing of an epileptic child", tries, by an in-depth litterary (text structure, vocabulary, character relationships) and anthroplogical approach, to discover the link between healing of the body and faith. The latter, questioned by Jesus's attitude, gradually reveals itself, beyond the usual understanding of adhering to religious beliefs, as an existential attitude asserting trust in others and a shift from the self-centered as a means to overcome deathly human situations
