L’Ukraine ou les contours incertains d’un Etat européen

The situation of the borders of Ukraine, a state that emerged from the breakup of the USSR in 1991, is extremely complex. The crisis of 2014, the destabilization of Donbas in the East, and Russia's annexation of Crimea in the South have rendered the control of the territory even more uncertain. A systematic typology of these situations is proposed, with a reflection on the progressive delineation of these borders in the course of history. This makes it possible to understand where the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state is exercised only partially, and what immediate challenges this situation poses for the internal stability of the country as for the surrounding states and powers
