At the end of the Great Schisme the kingdom of Castile was ruled by the queen Catalina de Lancaster, as regent of his son Juan II. Throughout this paper attempts to analyze the complicated situation and the various forces involved the ruler to move in the direction of the Council or to Benedict XIII. The objective is to ascertain the true role of the queen Catalina, in front, or with, other actors who sometimes are given the merit of the castilian action
