Shortening of gas chromatography run time without losing of separation efficiency is available by using of silica capillary columns with new size of internal diameter - 0.18 mm. This work is focussed on application of these narrow bore columns and their comparisons with usually applied columns with 0.32 mm of internal diameter for the determination of some beer flavours as fatty acids (isobutyric, butyric, isovaleric, valeric, caproic, caprylic, pelargonic, capric, lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic acids) and some higher alcohols.
