OBJECTIVE:Hypothyroidism has been suggested to be an uncommon cause of hyponatremia. However, little is known about the prevalence of hypothyroidism in patients with different levels of hyponatremia. The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence of hypothyroidism among patients with hyponatremia of varying severity while taking into consideration potential confounders associated with thyroid function.
