The success of Argentina was in the turn of the 19th and 20th century connected with the construction of the railways. Concerning the dominant role of British merchants and the other aspects which improved the international reputation, Argentina made its railways one of the most branched in the World. This paper researches the consequences of the development of the Argentine railway system before the World War I, its consolidation and the most important events that took place during the defined period and effected the railway construction
