The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the performance of Portuguese Public Universities, based on the expectations and satisfaction of their students and using the DEA method (Data Envelopment Analysis). To achieve the main objective of this investigation, it was explained the fundamental concepts for the use of DEA, which measures the efficiency of an organization comparing inputs and outputs. Then, we carried out a survey of 1,669 students from 55 colleges from 11 Portuguese Public Universities, measuring inputs (expectation) and outputs (satisfaction).
