Sources of Financing Public Goods in Polish Agriculture

The purpose of this paper is to indicate the scope of public intervention measures (Rural Development Program Funds) contributing to the fulfillment of the agricultural sector, which is an important sector of the Polish economy, not only for production but also for non-productive functions in the form of public goods and services, increasingly perceived and appreciated by the public. This constitutes a strong foundation for their support and is considered as a form of remuneration for farmers to generate positive externalities (public goods) provided to the society for which creation, the market does not reward the agricultural producers. The analyzes carried out show that, under the Common Agricultural Policy, rural development policy offers a number of measures to support the agricultural economy, agricultural practices and other investments thus contributing to the generation of public goods in agriculture.
