The article deals with the problem of man in the second half of the 20th century as depicted in the works of M. Amis. The problem is stipulated by the phenomenon of simulation, which involves the replacement of the natural by the artificial, the impoverishment and standardization of thinking, the dispersion of identity and cultural integrity, the alienation from reality.
