Evfimy Bolkhovitinov (1767-1837; historian, bibliographer, author of the Dictionary of Russian writers, Metropolitan of Kiev) and Vasily Anastasyevich (1775-1845; poet, translator, bibliographer, editor of journal “Uley”) were interested in Polish culture and kept contacts with Polish scientists. The article presents Polish themes in the letters of Bolkhovitinov and Anastasyevich from the years 1813 to 1824. Three main issues are discussed here: 1) representatives of Polish science, culture and literature (Zorian Dołęga Chodakowski, Samuel Bogumił Linde, Tadeusz Czacki and others); 2) institutions (periodicals, scientific societies, libraries and others); 3) events (main historical events, e.g. from the history of medieval Lithuania).
