Entrapment in a Confined Space. On Spatial Metaphor in Gombrowicz’s Prose

The article discusses methods of functioning of spatial metaphors in Gombrowicz’s prose. In the author’s opinion space is, in Gombrowicz’s works, a universal metaphor of what attracts human and, simultaneously, what makes a danger in the most important domains of thought and experience: in an existential and social situation. In comparison with other metaphors, spatial configurations, demonstrating multivariant forms of entrapment, play a more important role, since they are able to render the whole anthropological imagination of the writer.emerytowany profesor Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku19720
