The swirl flow minichannel heat sink has shown to be a promising alternative for thermal management of high heat flux applications, such as electronics and concentrated photovoltaics. Effective heat transfer enhancement strategies for this device are identified by studying the receptivity of temperature disturbances to a momentum forcing input. Steady state laminar flow is calculated numerically and experimental measurements are carried out to validate the results for subcritical Reynolds numbers.
