This article is conceived as follows: After a brief Introduction to the great debate on the new Constitution of Romania and the new European Constitutions organized by the Romanian Social Institute during December 18, 1921 – June 4, 1922, the article offers a critical presentation of the Romanian constitutional tradition until the Great Union and, finally, an extensive analysis on the lectures held by some prominent Romanian public intellectuals and politicians in the context of the debate around the adoption of the Constitution of 1923
