Aim of the study was to assess the level of knowledge of oral and nutrition hygiene measures for dental caries, malocclusions, periodontal disease, outbreak prophylaxis and self-assessment of oral health and social impact as well as the role of the dentist. Material and methods. The study was conducted on 166 schoolchildren aged 7-18 years (mean age 14.51±3.312 years), from four public schools in Neamt County, north-eastern Romania, who responded independently to an oral health questionnaire.
