Psoriatic patients have an accumulation of metabolic syndrome (MS) and cardiovascular diseases (CVD), likely mediated by systemic inflammation, and exhibiting low circulating levels of insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I, a marker of MS and CVD in the general population.
