Between 1599 and 1654 the Dutch attacked and occupied the American Coast on the South Atlantic, that were part of the Portuguese Empire. On those same years Olivier van Noort in the first Dutch circumnavigation journey attacked Rio de Janeiro and Campina Grande capitulate together with the northeast withdrawal.
