Introduction: the social tolerance of alcohol consumption in our country and its consequences are the cause of the increase of pathological consumers. In our Primary Health Care family doctors are the essential pillar in preventive work and confrontation with the dependencies that are diagnosed. A multidisciplinary and intersectorial approach is necessary that includes the regulation of the production, marketing, propaganda, consumption and utilization of health resources necessary for the fight against alcoholism.
