Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the surgical extraction of traumatized permanent teeth with complicated crown⁃root fractures. Methods Among the dental trauma patients diagnosed in the Emergency Depart⁃ ment of Beijing Stomatological Hospital, Capital Medical University, from January 2011 to January 2016, a total of 17 permanent teeth with complicated crown⁃root fractures were included in this retrospective study. According to the Inter⁃ national Association of Dental Traumatology guidelines, the roots were surgically extruded to a more coronal position and stabilized with splints to reconstruct the biologic width.
