Reinventing cultures: the contribution of the Cape Verdean community to the cultural dynamics of Lisbon

For many years migratory movements were mainly seen from a quantitative and economic perspective. Researchers were interested in measuring the numbers of people involved, the productivity of foreign workers, the main sectors in which they worked, the remittances sent home, and the social and economic problems supposedly due to their presence and that of their offspring.
