Cooperation in libraries has led to great professional achievements, but if we want libraries to have a future, we must build it together by cooperating more intensively. On the one hand, cooperation must penetrate to the bosom of the information systems themselves, eliminating redundancies in the internal work processes and making the most of the increasingly scarce resources at our disposal. On the other hand, we must align it within the framework of a much more intense international cooperation, which will build on firm projects on a global scale. As an example of this, several innovative and global cooperative projects are briefly presented in which the Library of the Complutense University has embarked during the last few years
