EVALUASI KINERJA RUAS JALAN WATURENGGONG DENPASAR BALI

Traffic congestion is a common issue in big cities, especially for developing countries such as Indonesia. This also occurs in Denpasar, especially on Waturenggong road section in Denpasar. The issue is due to the activity of shopping center along the sideroad and the roadside barrier. The analysis on the existing road section performance of Waturenggong showed the saturation degree (DS) of East- West direction was 0.86 and from West-East was 0.81. The analysis result of alternative I which was done by eliminating parking lot on both sides of the road showed that in the next five years the saturation degree of East-West direction would reach 0.92 and from West-East would reach 0.86. Alternative II was done by expanding the road to 8 meter in the next five years which resulted in saturation degree of East-West direction reaching 0.80 and West-East direction of 0.75. Alternative III was done by changing the Waturenggong into one-way road in the next five years which made the saturation degree to 0.72. Therefore, the solution of Waturenggong traffic congestion issue is by changing the route into one-way road
