protection of consumer e-commerce

E-commerce is a kind of form of a new way on trading that has special characteristic, namely there is no direct encounter between sellers and buyers, and that causes a lot of problems such as fraud and deceived in transactions conducted by the actors of business or entrepreneurs. The consumers who are in the weakest position in each e-commerce transaction, need definite legal protection. Although there have been an existing Law on Information and Electronic Transactions, and also the Law of Trade and the Consumer Protection Act as well, nevertheless they could not be able to implement the necessary of the e-commerce consumer legal certainty. Hence in giving the e-commerce consumer a legal protection, it�s necessary to give a preventive legal protection to avoid lot of frauds and deceptions. The preventive protection herein is in the form of the data and information accuracy from businesmen containing the identity, the business location and the businesmen legality of operations. The author argues that in order to obtain the data and information accuracy from the businesmen that containing identity, business location and businesmen legality of the business operators, this can be realized through a TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) Because through the TIN, hence the truth of identity, business location and business legality of the business operator will always be verified and supervised by the tax authorities, so that the TIN can be used as a trustmark or a reliance logo in e-commerce transactions as a shape of preventive legal protection. This preventive protection is also requiring government intervention in order to provide legal certainty
