Nesfatin-1 (Nesf-1) is an anorexigenic neuropeptide potently implicated in feeding regulation. One ofthe underlying mechanisms is by activating of the oxytocin neurons in the hypothalamic feeding centerparaventricular nucleus (PVN). However, it remains to be elucidated whether Nesf-1 also couldactivate the hypothalamic arginine vasopressin (AVP) neurons that play a pivotal role in regulating ofcardiovascular system as well as feeding behavior. In this current study, Nesf-1 was injected into thelateral ventricle of the adult male mice through stereotaxically implanted cannula. Furthermore, theexpression of c-Fos as a reliable marker of the activated neurons in the hypothalamus was examinedby immunohistochemistry. The results demonstrated tha...
