Loadings of oak leaf traits on the first three axes of a Principal Components Analysis including leaf traits associated with resource use (leaf water content, specific leaf area [SLA] in cm2 g-1, and nitrogen [N] and phosphorus [P] concentration in mg g-1 dry weight) or herbivore resistance (lignins, hydrolysable tannins, condensed tannins, and flavonoids, in mg g-1 dry weight). Traits with a strong loading (≥ 0.7) on a given PC are shown in bold.</p
