In each panel the count shown is the number of INR elements present in a 20bp window of the aggregate file produced by aligning all the database promoters from the same chromosome. Chromosomes were selected to illustrate the V (a), flat (b) and sloped (c) distributions. Histograms for all human chromosomes can be found in S1 Powerpoint.</p
