Tubular apoptosis was extensive in untreated ischemic rats (brown, ISCHEMIA/SALINE), while it was nearly undetectable in control rats (SHAM). Treatment with either renal cells (ISCHEMIA/CELLS) or their exosomes (ISCHEMIA/EXO) prevented detectable post-ischemia apoptosis.
