Cronin group reported novel polyoxometalate clusters using a self-sorting approach. The building blocks self-assembled into cross-shaped clusters architectures as intended, leading the collection of mixed Heteroanions (HAs) incorporated into the cross-shaped Heteropolyanions (HPAs) [(XYW15O54)4(WO2)4]32−/36− (X = H−P, Y = Se, Te, As).
