The fidelity of protein synthesis is largely dominated by the accurate recognition of transfer RNAs (tRNAs) by their cognate aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. Aminoacylation of each tRNA with its cognate amino acid is necessary to maintain the accuracy of genetic code input.
