Poly(2-alkyl-2-oxazoline)s (PAOXAs) have progressively emerged as suitable alternatives for replacing poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) in a variety of biomaterial-related applications, especially in the designing of polymer brush-based biointerfaces because of their stealth properties and chemical robustness. When equimolar mixtures of PEG and PAOXAs are assembled on surfaces to yield mixed polymer brushes, the interfacial physicochemical properties of the obtained films are significantly altered, in some cases, surpassing the biopassive and lubricious characteristics displayed by single-component PAOXA and PEG counterparts.
