(A) Genomic structure and histone modification profiles of an alternative promoter (U1) and the main promoter (E1) of mouse Myc. Genomic positions of U1, E1 and E2 (exon 2) are indicated with black boxes on the genome browser of UCSC. Histone modification profiles (H3K4me1, H3K4me3, H3K27ac) from embryonic cells (ES), thymus, and brain are presented along with sequence conservation profiles (Mammal Cons). (B) Expression profiles of U1 and E1 of Myc. A set of cDNAs derived from 13 individual tissues was used for RT-PCR surveys monitoring the expression patterns of U1 and E1 promoters.</p
