Abstract The dispute over land constitute the narrative of social inequalities in Brazil and crystallize contemporary struggles in Rondônia state. Particularly, we analyze factors that increase the struggle for land, promoted by the social movements against agribusiness pressure. The right to land ownership and territory as central issues to the social reproduction of peasantry are also articulated in the debate .</p
