Abstract Organ and tissue donation is generally seen by society as an act of solidarity and love of families. However, it requires crucial decisions in a moment of extreme pain and distress, considering the impact of an unexpected death. This study aimed to identify the organ donation awareness of 57 nursing undergraduate students and their wish to be donors. Students in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth semesters of the Catholic University of Brasília, Brazil, participated and answered a questionnaire.
