ABSTRACT The article reports a descriptive research, under a quantitative approach, aimed at characterizing the way actions of matrix support are inserted into daily life; and the tools privileged by physicians and nurses of the Family's Health Strategy (Estratégia Saúde da Família - ESF) and specialists of the Nucleus for Supporting the Family´s Health (Núcleo de Apoio à Saúde da Família - Nasf) in a district at the South Region of São Paulo. Seventy-eight professionals (ESF=44, Nasf=34) have filled in a questionnaire about agenda, activities, tools and knowledge. Results indicate that teams face difficulties while performing shared actions of matrix support.</p
