YTK12 strains transformed with pSUC2T7M13ORI encoding SUC2 transcriptionally fused to gpiB, sspM, sspN or sspO secretion signal nucleotide sequence, as well as the empty vector and YTK12-only controls. Only strains expressing the secretion signal-Suc2 fusion proteins were able to grow on defined medium with raffinose as carbon source (CMDRAA). SS, secretion signal.
