IdTracker returns x, y coordinates for each of the animals in the group stored in the file trajectories.mat. This simple code Locomotion.m estimates from the x,y coordinates at 0.5 s intervals (provided a given frame rate, fps) the distance moved by the animal, converts distance expressed (using the function distAmb) in pixel to centimeters (DistanceAmbl), and if the distance moved is above a threshold of 1cm that the animal is considered mobile . Thus, the recorded behavioral data is expressed in the form of a time series (Locomotor) of mutually exclusive states. At any given time, if the bird was moving a number one was recorded or a zero if immobile. </p
