Seed treatments have small but significant effects on in vitro germination rates and on two day-old winter wheat seedling coleoptile (the protective sheath covering the emerging shoot) and radicle (embryonic root) lengths. Plants were grown from pelleted and primed (Pr), pelleted (P), or untreated (Ctrl) seeds. As no significant wheat variety effect was observed (p = 0.32, 0.99 and 0.48, respectively) data are pooled and means and standard errors (SE) shown.
