The parasite load in infected macrophages was determined by counting the number of intracellular amastigotes per 100 macrophages. The data represents the mean±SD of three independent experiments in triplicate *PP<0.005, ***P≤0.0005 were considered significant, compared to the untreated cells using student’s t test.
