Abstract A qualitative research was carried out with the objective of investigating the experience of stepmothers about conjugality in remarriage. A total of 16 stepmothers participated in the study. The data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the content analysis method. Six categories emerged from the content analysis: the stepmother’s place within the family; stepmother denomination; conjugality in remarriage; stepmother-stepchild dyad; stepmother-stepchild-mother triad; and psychic generation.
