Number of Tityus serrulatus scorplings retrieved (born -predated) each month from females of control (black bars), Food Deprivation (FD, light grey bars), and Food and Water Deprivation (FWD, striped grey bars) groups. No births were observed in the Water deprivation group (not represented). Data are representative of the three independent experiments. To construct this graph, the number of adult scorpions in each category was standardized to n = 100, by the random exclusion of extra groups in Control and FD.</p
