My PhD thesis focuses on two facets of therapeutic strategies to promote neuroprotection and neurorepair in progressive MS. We have developed the therapeutic strategy to promote neuroprotection and neurorepair in the animal model of progressive MS by limiting NgR1-dependent signalling during inflammation-mediated axonal degeneration to promote remyelination in intact axons during MS. We utilised a novel stem cell-based delivery method to deliver the therapeutic protein specifically in axons at specific lesion site to limit axonal degeneration. We have also initiated a drug development project for a repurposed drug with accelerated translation potential and path to market for Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, an unmet medical need. We are tria...
