Abstract: This article aims to observe the evolution of the processing industry in the Northeast region, in particular to verify if the region suffers from a deindustrialization process. The manufacturing industry in Brazil has undergone a process of deindustrialization, from a 32% share of GDP in 1986 to about 10% in 2014. In the light of this, it is sought to analyze if the manufacturing industry in the Northeast region and its states Followed the trajectory of the national industry, that is, deindustrialization.</p
