Pultruded fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite has been applied as a high-performance material. This research aims to contribute to the understanding of the dynamic response of pultruded GFRP at intermediate strain rates at the material and member scales. The effect of strain rate on the material properties of pultruded GFRP is studied via comprehensive experiments. At member scale, the dynamic response and application of pultruded GFREP are evaluated by experiments and finite element methods. The research outcomes will assist in the development of design guidelines for composite structures, and promote the adoption of pultruded GFRP in civil engineering
