Endometriosis is a chronic gynaecological pathology characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the endometrium. Its large prevalence, its invalidating symptomatology and frequent delays in diagnosis make it a real public health issue. Endometriosis has multifactorial origins and its physiopathology remains poorly known. Although menstrual reflux via the fallopian tubes seems to be the first element, several stages, dependent on genetic, immunological, hormonal and environmental factors are necessary for the endometriosis lesions formation.
