This study investigated the development and use of English personal pronouns in 3 children with specific language impairment, as compared to 3 language-matched typically developing children. Longitudinal data was obtained from the CHILDES online database of language samples, with children ranging in age from 13 months to 8 years. The study looked at overall pronoun use between the two groups, with a particular focus on 1st, 2nd and 3rd person pronouns, gender pronouns and correct use of case. Results suggested that the children with specific language impairment were more limited than typically developing children in their use of 3rd person and gender pronouns in particular.bsc_Speunpub2848_ethesesunpu
