Abstract: The study has been generated by a fourth year BA (Hons) Drama and Performance student as the main component of their honors degree at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.. The study can be contextualized within the area of feminist discourse and contributes to the study of gender and performance. The study explores the interplay between theoretical study and theatrical, embodied practice of the performance genre 'Neo-Burlesque' within the context of breasted experience. The study presents a historical context to Burlesque, exploring its development and its interpretation as a feminist practice.
