The Use of Critical Thinking by Chinese Students in Higher Education

EdinburghThe purpose of the paper is to examine the use of critical thinking by Chinese students in Higher Education (HE). It is necessary to cultivate Chinese HE students' critical thinking in their learning in terms of promoting students' abilities of analyzing and solving problems, constructivist learning, deep learning and self-regulated learning. Chinese HE students tend to show a positive disposition towards critical thinking in the aspect of being deep and flexible learners, whereas negative in autonomy and open-mindedness.
