Purpose- The research aims is to explore the personality traits of a leader within the hospitality sector and how their followers value these qualities. Design/methodology- A mixed method approach was employed in which both quantitative and qualitative data was gathered concurrently. Semi-structured interview, stipulated preliminary issues and themes that were established within the literature. Questionnaires were used to provide background information and to evaluate the perceptions. Findings- The research findings indicate that there is a level of servant leadership demonstrated within the hotel accompanied with individuals who possess emotional and social intelligence.
