Between 2002 and 2007, environmental justice became a feature of the Labour-Liberal Democrat government's policy on the environment. With roots in anti-racist struggles in the USA and social movements elsewhere, environmental justice contains the potential for radical anti-neoliberal policy, as has been noted by several authors.
