Environmental justice in Scotland: incorporation and conflict

Between 2002 and 2007, environmental justice became a feature of the Labour-Liberal Democrat government's policy on the environment. With roots in anti-racist struggles in the USA and social movements elsewhere, environmental justice contains the potential for radical anti-neoliberal policy, as has been noted by several authors. This chapter assesses the extent to which environmental justice policy of the former Scottish Executive over this period, challenges or articulates with neoliberalism, or other possible social policy objectives.div_MCaPAAgyeman, Julian.
